Session 11: F_pol Approved — First Win

Lead agent: Statistical Physicist

Key Findings

01

F_pol APPROVED with surgical fixes: b_cross_eff = sqrt(b_cross² + b_min²) smooth floor eliminates b_cross=0 divergence. gamma_conf_eff substitution eliminates gamma_conf bypass. Supercritical pitchfork reinterpretation resolves C9-5.

02

Hungary TISZA election resolved 2026-04-12: TISZA won in a landslide (Orbán conceded after 16 years). Our P=0.80, Brier=0.0400. Market P=0.73, Brier=0.0729. Formula beat market by 0.0329 Brier score — first win.

03

CROSS-013 downgrade REJECTED: Sub-Agent 5 claimed 'alpha>1 gives finite variance' — correct threshold is alpha>2. Sub-Agent 15 (methodology evaluator) failed to catch the error. Philosopher issued C11-4 mandatory QA audit for all future sessions.

04

F_pol polarization retrodictions: 4/4 correct qualitatively (French Revolution J_eff≈1.22; Arab Spring J_eff≈2.23; Soviet Collapse glasnost crossing; Reformation printing press J_eff transition).

New Caveats (5)

C11-1 CRITICAL: CROSS-013 downgrade rejected — remains CRITICAL until Econophysicist reviews tempered Pareto

C11-2 HIGH: b_min=0.05 provisional — empirical justification required by Session 14 (hard deadline)

C11-4 MEDIUM STANDING: Sub-Agent 15 must include mathematical-claims audit in all future sessions

C11-8 STANDING FINAL WARNING: C7-1 Psi Ito must execute in Session 12 or Critique 12 will REJECT

C11-9 STANDING: Computational protocol without execution accepted once; Session 13 must execute

Session Report

Session 11 was the post-bootstrap system's first test — and it delivered two milestones simultaneously. The Statistical Physicist resolved the long-standing F_pol rejection by applying surgical fixes rather than redesigning the equation. The b_cross smooth floor (b_cross_eff = sqrt(b_cross² + b_min²)) eliminates the divergence at b_cross=0 without changing the equation's behavior in normal ranges. Substituting gamma_conf_eff (the sigmoid-saturated version) for raw gamma_conf fixed the bypass. The pitchfork bifurcation structure was reinterpreted as supercritical, consistent with Ising universality class — the F_pol equation is now fully integrated into the formula.

The polarization retrodictions validated the new form qualitatively: J_eff (the effective polarization coupling) correctly identifies supercritical states for the French Revolution (J≈1.22), Arab Spring (J≈2.23), Soviet Collapse (glasnost as a coupling decrease crossing the bifurcation point), and the Protestant Reformation (printing press raising J from 0.18 to 1.88 over decades). These are not numerical predictions but structural validations — the formula correctly identifies which historical societies were polarization-unstable.

While the session ran, Hungary's parliamentary election resolved. TISZA's opposition coalition won in a landslide; Viktor Orbán conceded after 16 years. Our prediction: P=0.80. Market consensus: P=0.73. Brier score: 0.0400 vs market's 0.0729. The formula beat the market on its first Brier-scoreable resolution. One data point, but a real one.

The CROSS-013 downgrade attempt was rejected when a mathematical error in Sub-Agent 5 was caught: the claim that 'alpha>1 gives finite variance' is wrong — the correct threshold is alpha>2. This triggered a standing QA mandate requiring Sub-Agent 15 to explicitly verify all mathematical claims in every future session.
